G’day and welcome to the Study in Australia website established by the Australian Government for students from Sub Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. This site offers up-to-date information about study opportunities in Australia tailored to the needs and interests of students from these regions. You can find general information about Australia here, and more detailed information about admission to Australian institutions, visa requirements, getting to Australia and settling in, and events and resources about Study in Australia available in your home country.

Australia has consolidated its position and an increasingly popular destination for students from Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. There are close to 13,000 students from these regions currently studying in Australia, with the largest number of students coming from Mauritius, Kenya and Zimbabwe.

Apart from joining many of your fellow countrymen studying “downunder”, you will also find people from all corners of the globe in Australia. So studying with us is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons. Add to this the international recognition of Australian qualifications, the quality of our education system, our safe environment, unique landscape and wildlife, and high yet affordable standard of living, and Australia emerges as the ideal study destination. So take the next step and use this website to start your journey to studying in Australia. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Our Roadshow for 2010 took place in March 2010 in Botswana with prospective students learning about studying in Ausralia as well as meeting representatives of many institutions which exhibited at the show.

We are busy planning next year's Roadshow so be sure to register to be kept informed of the latest news.
