Australian Education International (AEI) is part of the Australian Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST). AEI is the principal source of information about Australian educational institutions, their admission requirements and procedures.

AEI liaises with all sectors of the Australian education and training industry and all levels of government.  AEI develops Memoranda of Understanding and facilitates dialogue on the issues of education, science and training with governments around the world.  It also manages Australia’s education interests in major international and regional strategic fora. It administers national legislation for financial and tuition assurance mechanisms and codes of practice such as the Education Services for Overseas Students Act (ESOS) and the Commonwealth Register of Institute and Cover of Overseas Student (CRICOS), ensuring quality standards are protected.

AEI provides assessment services, information and advice on the recognition of educational and professional qualifications and skills from around the world through the National Office for Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR).  For more information, visit http://www.dest.gov.au/noosr/.
